Novice Sculling and Sculling I – 2016 Recap

Novice Sculling and Sculling I – 2016 Recap

*Registration for the 2017 season opens on March 6. While we excitedly wait for the new season to begin, we will be taking an opportunity to look back on highlights from the 2016 season. Thanks to Alan Weatherley for this summary of the Novice Sculling and Sculling I programs!

The 2016 ACR Novice Sculling and Sculling I programs can be counted as being among our most successful of recent years. We enjoyed a very strong participation which gave us the pleasure of teaching two enthusiastic classes of novices the rudiments, and, we hope, some of the finer points of sculling! Many of our new rowers continued with us on to the next step into Sculling I where we were joined by several past members of the program. The blending of various levels of experience is always very helpful!

Needless to say we are hoping that the 2017 season will prove equally successful. If possible, we shall try to include the customary week-long Sweep to Scull program as well. Circumstances did not allow for this last year but if there is a ‘popular demand’ it will return!
